Plotting the Urban Body is an interdisciplinary research based on TCM (traditional Chinese medicine). The project has been presented at Milan (VIR Viafarini, 2012/2013) New York – Manhattan ( 2014 Flux Factory) Val D’Elsa ( 2014 Fenice contemporanea) St Louis Missouri (The Luminary 2016). The theories at the basis of this philosophy, become starting points for an investigation around the urban texture, the energetic distribution of the city and landscape that are considered as a organic body or a biological creature. P.U.B. is intended as an interdisciplinary survey project that considers urban typologies. P.U.B. builds a methodology of observation and diagnosis of the urban and relates it to the peculiar characteristics of different territories.
Plotting the Urban Body è un’analisi che parte dalla medicina tradizionale cinese. Tenendo come principi di ricerca le teorie base di questa disciplina conduco un’indagine intorno al tessuto urbano, alla distribuzione energetica nella città considerandola come corpo organico, un essere biologico, all’interno della quale le funzioni energetiche si manifestano. P.U.B. È pensato come un progetto di indagine che interessa molteplici tipologie di organizzazione sociale e formula una metodologia di osservazione e diagnosi del corpo ambientale in relazione alle caratteristiche peculiari a diversi territori. P.U.B. Si traduce in una serie di elaborati che mettono in relazione punti energetici della città (acupoints in medicina cinese) e le vie dell’energia (meridiani).
Questa mappatura, in costante trasformazione, permette di leggere la città su livelli molteplici, arricchendo la relazione fra individuo e contesto e permette una diagnosi complessa sullo stato di salute della città e la comunità che la vive.

The results of P.U.B. are a series of documents that investigate how, by individualizing the energy points of the city (acupoints in Chinese medicine) and the energy pathways (meridians), the relationship between body functions and urban context evolve. This never ending transformative mapping allows the public to interpret the city from multiple points of view, enhancing a relationship between the individual and the context and enabling a complex diagnosis of the city’s state of healthThe reasearch is formalized by drawings, cartography, installations, performances, sound mapping and is accompanied by a series of lectures with researchers of TCM and artists interested in the Chinese culture and architecture
Il progetto si formalizza in elaborati grafici, cartografie, wall painting e installazioni sonore e performance, sviluppandosi attraverso la relazione con operatori e ricercatori di taoismo, di medicina tradizionale cinese e artisti interessati alla tematica proposta dal punto di vista dell’architettura e cultura cinese.
